Patrick Malau
I hail from the prolific province of Limpopo. Life was not easy growing up in a family of 8 children. As a single parent, my mother had to ration her meagre salary between school and family duties. This means there was a time when we went to school without proper uniform or food. My sisters and I were always in arrears.
Enrolling at CIDA is quite an achievement for me. Not only will I get the opportunities that come with a degree, I'll also be the first one in my family to go through university. I travel a distance of 60 km by train everyday to get to campus because I cannot afford to live in the city, but from here things can only get better. My family is looking forward to my graduation this year and as for me, I'm looking forward to a prosperous future. There's nothing in life that can deter me from achieving my goals. Every mountain before me shall become a levelled plain.
