Ntobako Nala

I'm Ntobako Nala, a final year student and a member of the SRC here at CIDA. Learning at CIDA is quite an experience for me; I find it more experiential than theoretical. When I first started here, the facilities were not good. We didn't have basic equipment like computers; we just had a desire to learn. I believe that every person should be given the opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge. Most South Africans from disadvantaged backgrounds never get this opportunity.

I was fortunate to be raised by my grandmother with her meagre pension. My parents divorced when I was little and resources had to be distributed among 11 children. Be that as it may, I worked hard in school to achieve top marks and to secure a scholarship to study Mechanical Engineering. But that dream was thwarted by financial constraints and I had to drop out of Technical school. I later got into CIDA and I’m currently specialising in International Finance and Marketing. I want to become a respectable businessman and a community leader.
