About Us
Dorothy Tyobeka
I grew up in the dusty streets of Rustenburg in the Northwest. I’ve always dreamed of a highflying career in corporate finance, but with financial constraints that dream seemed like an impossible endeavour. Where I grew up, good education was more of a privilege than a commodity. I regard education as a tool that will help me change my destiny and that of my generation.
Life for me has been a journey marred with difficulty. I was raised in a family of five by unemployed parents. My older siblings were the sole providers of the home. I had no choice, but to settle for poor government education provided by rural schools.
CIDA is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, a channel where I can make my aspirations more tangible. I've been placed with Standard Bank Corporate in order to garner work experience whilst I finish my studies. Yet another opportunity that could only be made possible through CIDA.
In short, I'm on my way to becoming the independent woman that I’ve always desired to be.
